Hetzler Named Executive Director and Chief Counsel for FFLC
On the anniversary of his 10th year as a full-time team member of The Family Foundation team, The Family Foundation of Virginia announced that Josh Hetzler has been named Executive Director and Chief Legal Counsel of the Founding Freedoms Law Center.
Since its launch in 2020, FFLC has grown rapidly into a leading force defending life, free speech, religious liberty, and parental rights across Virginia. What began as a necessary response to an unprecedented wave of policy challenges has become a trusted legal arm serving hundreds of clients across the Commonwealth.
Under Josh’s leadership, we are stepping into a season of significant growth. The volume and urgency of cases continue to increase as we are actively working to bring on additional attorneys to meet the demand.
By God’s grace, we’ve already seen meaningful victories, including overturning Virginia’s talk therapy ban, a settlement for the “Loudoun 3” and, just this week, announcing our effort to secure the right for homeschool students to participate in public school sports teams.
Josh will continue to be supported by a strong and growing team, including Michael Sylvester, Litigation Counsel, and Bruce Matson, Director of Operations and Senior Fellow.
“I am honored to be entrusted to lead our critical efforts at the Founding Freedoms Law Center,” said Hetzler. “It is clear we are needed in Virginia, and we look forward to continuing to fight for the fundamental freedoms that make our Commonwealth and nation great.”
