Legal Memo: The Right of Parents to Access Their Children’s Medical Records

This memorandum is written for parents to explain what Virginia law says regarding parental access to medical records. With the recent use of online portals by health systems such as UVA and Sentra, parents are being forced to receive authorization from their teens to access their medical records online. This has raised serious parental rights concerns. Our legal team drafted this memorandum to provide general information on what Virginia law says on the issue and what parents’ rights are.

This model letter is for Christian parents to give to public school teachers and administrators requesting that their child be excluded from participation in any curriculum, assignment, literature, or festivity having to do with issues involving “LGBTQ+” while in school. Parents of other faiths can simply modify this template to reflect statements from their own faith. Feel free to use this letter as-is or modify it to suit your beliefs.

This model letter is designed for Christian parents to provide to public school teachers and administrators to remind them of their child’s fundamental rights to speech and religious exercise. It explains core Christian beliefs about the nature of male and female, as well as the existence of just one race - the human race. It explains that, as a parent, you do not permit your child to be required or pressured into speaking words and messages (e.g. gender ideology and critical race theory) that violate their faith and conscience. Feel free to use this letter as-is or modify it to suit your beliefs.
