Christine Lambrou Johnson

Christine Johnson has extensive experience in employment discrimination law and civil rights en-forcement.

Christine served as Chief of the Office of Civil Rights and Senior Assistant Attorney General for the Commonwealth of Virginia under Attorney General Jason S. Miyares. The Office has jurisdic-tion over discrimination in employment, law enforcement, housing, and voting rights. Christine led the Commonwealth’s enforcement of Virginia’s Human Rights Act (VHRA), Fair Housing Law (VFHL), and Rights of Voters Act. She investigated discrimination complaints under both state and federal anti-discrimination laws, including the VHRA, VFHL, Title VII, the ADA, ADEA, PWFA, Title VI, and Title IX and brought civil actions on behalf of victims of discrimination. Christine also co-chaired Attorney General Miyares’s Antisemitism Task Force.

In the first Trump Administration, Christine served as Assistant General Counsel of the Equal Em-ployment Opportunity Commission. In that capacity, she served the EEOC’s General Counsel as second-in-command over litigation brought by EEOC’s 15 regional offices across the nation and the 350 attorneys charged with enforcing Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, ADA, ADEA, and GI-NA. Christine advised the General Counsel on all aspects of trial and appellate enforcement and policy. She also chaired the General Counsel’s Religious Discrimination Work Group, which iden-tified practical and legal impediments preventing individuals from filing complaints of religious discrimination with the EEOC and hosted a series of dialogue sessions with religious leaders, ad-vocacy groups, and faith-based nonprofits.

Earlier in her career, Christine practiced with the firm of Gammon & Grange, P.C., where she was a Director and Owner, and served as Assistant Attorney General of the Illinois Attorney General’s Office, where she enforced the state’s wage and hour laws and defended the State of Illinois in employment discrimination litigation. She also clerked for the Honorable Robert R. Thomas of the Illinois Supreme Court.

Christine received both her B.A., with distinction, and J.D. from the University of Michigan.
